This morning I noticed that our feral cat, Tractor, looked pregnant. At noonish I went to the barn to find two kittens! Tractor was sitting between the crying kittens. We were worried that she wasn’t going to feed them, but she wouldn’t let us near them. Later I went back to find the kittens and Tractor gone! They weren’t anywhere in the downstairs of the barn. Later I was getting some stuff from the upstairs of the barn and found Tractor nursing her kittens in the hay! Later I went back and she had moved them. I found them in some hay on the ground nursing. I probably won’t look again on purpose since she is so protective.
2019 Kitten Litter #1: 6 Weeks
The kittens are getting big! They are growing and thriving!!! So far Kaalo is the only one who’s eyes have darkened. We named the Siamese, Sebastian. The pictures are a little blurry because these handsome guys do not like to stay still long enough for a picture anymore.
Our Farm is Growing
Today we have added a couple new additions to the farm! Our rabbits were bred this morning by a neighbor’s buck. So hopefully in about a month we will have rabbit kits. We also received a package in the mail with 25 chicks! We have a dozen female Easter Eggers, a dozen female Black Australorps, and one male black Australorp. They are all healthy so far! The male’s name is Julius.
2019 Kitten Litter #1: 5 Weeks
Willow’s kittens turned five weeks on Wednesday. They drink water now and have started to eat kitten food soaked in goat milk. They still nurse. We have named three of these little guys. The tuxedo’s name is Tux. The spotted kitten’s name is Mango. The black kitten is named Kaalo. We haven’t named the Siamese kitten yet. If you have a name suggestion please let us know. Tux is definitely the biggest kitten. He looks like a little bobcat! All of the kittens run all over the barn and are constantly tackling each other! Kaalo’s eyes are starting to turn brown. We hope that the other kitten’s eyes stay blue.
Our Farm
We have rehomed a lot of our animals. We rehomed Hazel, Hank, Guffey, Jordan, Skip and Cyrus. We also rehomed the horse, Liberty. So the only goat we are rehoming now is Nickel. He can go in a few weeks as a wether or in a month and a few weeks intact. His rehoming fee is $75. Contact us for more info on him. We only have eight goats now!

The Little Grey Kitten
The day that Splash’s kittens were born, we went to feed the grey kitten before bed and he drank a lot. I got up to get more milk and Splash ran over, picked him up, and left. We decided to let them be. The next morning we couldn’t find the kitten. Then in the evening we found that he had died. We were all really sad. So Splash has no kittens.
Splash’s Kittens
Splash had been getting really round, so we knew that she was going to queen soon. This morning we went to the barn to find that she had had five kittens. Four were dead. One had definitely died in the womb a long time ago. She wouldn’t feed the live kitten. We tried bottle/syringe feeding, but the kitten wouldn’t drink. We thought it had died and left. More than four hours later we found that it was alive! Splash still won’t feed it. It is grey with a white star on its chest. I will keep you updated on this little guy’s progress.
