Tzipporah’s Sons

This morning we went to the barn and found that Tzipporah had kidded! Her kids were still wet, so she must have just kidded. She had twin bucklings. Their names are Gershom and Eliezer. Their dam is Beulah Valley Tzipporah, an ADGA Alpine and their sire is Beulah Valley Rio, an ADGA Nubian. The clue to their names is in the post title. Leave your guess to who they are in the Bible in the comments.

Quadruplets

Yesterday, Lily’s udder was huge! She had no other labor symptoms. This morning when we checked on her, she was having hard contractions. She was hardly showing, so we thought she would just have one or two. She laid down and started pushing. Out came Euphrates. He just popped right out. She cleaned him, and then she started pushing again. That’s when Pishon came out nose first. She was small enough that I didn’t have to reposition her. There were several minutes without any more kids, so we assumed that Lily was done, but then she pushed out another kid! This one was positioned right, but she must have inhaled fluid, because it took several minutes, and some suction with a bulb syringe to get her breathing. This little girl’s name is Gihon. Immediately after that came a backwards kid. She came out almost completely in the sack! I did need to help with this one, because Lily’s contraction stopped before the kid’s head came out. We named this doeling Tigris. They are all thriving now! All of them are over four pounds! Gihon was struggling for a little while, but she looks healthy now! This is the only set of quadruplets that we’ve ever had! Their dam is Kuchan Lily, and their sire is Beulah Valley Rio. They will all be registered through ADGA. Keep an eye out for new pictures! This year we will name all of our kids rare Bible names. Try to guess what or who the names are from in the Bible. We will leave a clue in the post. The clue is in their names. Leave your guess in the comments.

Buckling: Euphrates
Doeling #3: Tigris
Doeling #1: Pishon (Pippy)
Doeling #2: Gihon (Gigi)

Rehoming Beulah Valley Rio

Meet Beulah Valley Rio. He is a registered, ADGA, Nubian buck. Rio will be two in March. He has lines from great farms like Parks Oasis, Kastemur’s, Goldthwaite, and some others. Rio’s dam is Kuchan Ruby and his sire is Parks Oasis Bijou.

He has lines from Kastemur’s Time in a Bottle. Rio’s dam is reddish brown and his sire is black, so he throws different colors. In his lines he has at least one 11*M, one 10*M, two ++*B, +*B, and one *B. He has incredible lines! He has a moonspot buck in his lines.

He is dis-budded (no scurs), gentle, and easy to handle, even for children. He’s great and we would want to keep him, but lots of our herd are related to him and he bred most of our does this year. We are open to trades for another buck. Preferably young and easy to handle for children.

Update

So, it’s been awhile since I’ve posted. Lots of things have happened since the last post.

First off, we rehomed all of the rabbits that we wanted to. We rehomed all, but four baby girls. We named them Snapdragon, Blossom, Lilac, and Poppy. They are about five months old.

We rehomed all of the cats except for Willow, Tractor, Splash, Sebastian, and Willow’s kittens Bluegrass and Banjo. Bluegrass and Banjo are from Willow’s litter of five. Three of them died. Bluegrass is grey and Banjo is a siamese. We would like to rehome Willow.

Most of the goats are bred to Beulah Valley Rio for kids in March and April.

We got ducks! We have two females and a male. Their names are Lucy, Daffodil, and Donald. They are so cute!

The chickens are getting so big! They have started to lay!

Our Newest Addition

Ever since we rehomed our mare, Liberty, we have been looking for a good gelding. We finally found one. We now have a lovely Appaloosa gelding. His name is Patriot. He is super sweet and doesn’t spook easily. We are so glad to have him on our farm.

2019 Kitten Litter #4

Willow had another litter of kittens! She had five this time. She gave birth in a tree root that was really exposed to predators, so we moved her and her kittens to the barn. Two of her kittens are grey, two are black, and one is white. One of the grey kittens is super tiny! So far, they are all thriving!

We have a lot of barn cats available! We have 5 males who are ready to go! We currently have fifteen cats. If you are interested in any cats let us know in the comments or contact us! We have lots of ages, colors, and both genders!

Tractor’s female kittens have been adopted. So has Mango.

2019 Kitten Litter #3: Four Weeks Old

Splash’s kittens are now four weeks old! Unfortunately we lost the white and grey kitten and one grey kitten in a flash flood. We are pretty sure that the other two are boys. We named them Moses and Lazurus. Splash moved them so far under the deck, that we can’t get any pictures of them. They are both so cute!

The Bunnies are Three Weeks Old

The baby rabbits are three weeks old today! They are all healthy and thriving! In the litter of eight, there was one runt, but he/she is catching up with his/her siblings. They all have blue and red eyes. Most of them are white with Californian markings. A couple have slight other markings. Today we let them out, on the lawn, in their playpen.

2019 Kitten Litter #3

Yesterday Splash was dripping a lot. She crawled up under the deck and dug a hole. Later we heard meowing under the deck. Several hours later, Splash came out to get some water. We lifted the trap door that the kittens were under. We found four, live, gray kittens. They all look healthy! Splash is constantly with them. She is the one who wouldn’t take care of her kittens earlier this year. She seems to be doing great!
